Carmen possesses extensive experience in both education and medicine, enabling her to offer a distinctive and comprehensive approach to therapy. Her background and training in education provides specialized expertise in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are navigating stressors specific to their developmental stages. Additionally, Carmen's advanced schooling in loss, complicated grief, and challenging life transitions focuses on addressing the accompanying emotional and cognitive responses. Her longstanding work with age-related health concerns and chronic illness, supporting both patients and caregivers across diverse mental health challenges, informs her broad perspective when working with this population. Moreover, decades of volunteer work—as Guardian ad litem, mentor trainer for Okaloosa County School District, educator for single mothers, student mentor, and ministry leader—enhance her therapeutic expertise.
All matters are addressed in a confidential environment, where discussions are conducted without judgment and attention is given to the factors contributing to negative impacts. Utilizing evidence-based methodologies, Carmen assists individuals in identifying constructive approaches to healing and personal growth. Carmen holds a master’s degree in Social Work with Honors from Florida State University, as well as a bachelor degree in Medical Technology with minors in Biology and Chemistry. With over 40 years of expertise spanning the fields of medicine, law, and education, she is equipped to provide comprehensive support throughout all phases of an individual’s life.
